Sports Performance Training involves improving functional movement and athletic ability to support the physical demands undertaken, specific to sporting activities. This could include anything from rugby and MMA, through to rowing and cycling.
WHY IS THIS TRAINING PROGRAMME SPECIFIC TO SPORTS?
This specific programme concentrates on the three core areas of preparation, progression and rehabilitation. Many athletes and people that participate in regular sporting activity require training methods that concentrates on specific aspects of their activity. Every action is focused on improving and honing the skills of the individual and is much more intensive than a general training programme for strength or fitness for example.
A THREE STAGE SPORTS PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME
The first stage focuses on pre-season or pre-competition, preparing your body both physically and mentally, reducing the chance of injury by increasing strength, coordination and flexibility. The in-season progression stage is less physical reducing the risk of overtraining. Here we will work on your timing and explosiveness. The third stage covers rehabilitation after competition. Here we will either look at allowing your body to recover and repair, or focus on building up to the next competition by increasing your lean muscle mass and power.
WHAT IF I DON'T COMPETE PROFESSIONALLY IN SPORTS?
You don’t have to be a professional athlete to benefit from our sports performance training programme. Even if you only play casually, but want to be more competitive, we can tailor this programme to both your ability and overall needs. The level at which you want to get involved is entirely up to you. If you’re a novice, we are not going to put you on the same routine as one of our fighters or cyclists. Nothing is going to be a walk in the park, but together we can build the foundation for improving your overall health and performance.
